Polihale Beach offers numerous beach break setups spread along its long, open shoreline, with surfable conditions in both summer and winter. Unlike nearby Mana, Polihale picks up more energy from north swells, though solid south swells can still wrap in effectively.

Combo swells tend to produce the best conditions, lighting up multiple peaks along the beach. Because the coastline is expansive and primarily sand-bottom, conditions can shift quickly and strong currents are common during larger swells.
