Mana Point sits on the west side of Kauaʻi and is unique in that it can work year-round, picking up uninterrupted energy from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. North to northwest swells tend to run down the beach producing mostly rights, while south to southwest swells sweep upward producing lefts.

When both directions are in play, crossed-up A-frames can appear along the entire stretch. Thanks to its wide-angle exposure, Mana Point can grow large during stronger swell events — especially in winter — and powerful currents are common.

N–NW Swell

Rights

Swell runs down the beach — mostly right-hand waves along the stretch.

S–SW Swell

Lefts

Swell sweeps upward — lefts form along the beach. Combo swells produce A-frames.

🏄 Low

Mellow lineup, room to spread out. The long beach spreads people out naturally — but combo swells draw more surfers looking for the A-frames.
