There’s something for everyone at the 3rd annual Southside Music and Arts Festival.  \nThe festival begins with live music and vendors in Waikomo Courtyard\, before moving across the street towards the Sugar Monument. Here you’ll find the festival main stage\, art installations\, and more artists and vendors. Exploring the ways knowledge\, mentorship\, and creative traditions are passed from one generation to the next\, the project transforms a transitional space into a living work of art. \nAn Imparting Landscape: Mural Unveiling & Community Celebration\nSaturday\, June 27\, 2026 | 3:00–9:00 PM \nJoin us for the unveiling of An Imparting Landscape\, a 500-foot collaborative mural project featuring ten artists from Hawaiʻi and beyond. Throughout the afternoon and evening\, guests are invited to explore the mural\, hear directly from participating artists\, and engage in conversations around mentorship\, creativity\, and cultural connection. \nProgram Schedule\n3:00–4:00 PM\nGuided Mural Tour\nWalk the length of the mural alongside participating artists and hear the stories\, inspirations\, and relationships embedded within each section of the work. \n4:15–5:00 PM\nState Foundation on Culture and the Arts Presentation\nJoin Executive Director Karen Ewald and the SFCA team for a conversation about supporting contemporary arts across Hawaiʻi and expanding opportunities for artists throughout the islands. \n5:15–6:15 PM\nArtist Panel Discussion\nModerated by Solomon Enos\, participating artists will discuss the theme of An Imparting Landscape\, their creative process\, and the role of mentorship\, community\, and place in their work. \n6:30–7:15 PM\nFilm Screening: ‘A’ā: An Islands Twinkle\nA presentation by artist Chris Miyashiro exploring Hawaiʻi’s evolving cultural and artistic landscape through film. \n7:30–9:00 PM\nLo-Fi Gathering & Closing Celebration\nAn evening of music with DJ Laʻakea Aikau and DJ Morgan\, projection art installations\, food and drinks available for purchase\, and time to connect with artists and community members. \nFree and open to the public.\nPresented in partnership with the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and Capitol Modern.
