SUMMARY:Common Ground Presents: The Pharcyde
DESCRIPTION:Prepare for an unforgettable night of legendary hip-hop as The Pharcyde and Masta Plann take the stage at Common Ground Kaua’i for a special one-night event on Friday\, September 27th\, 2024\, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This rare convergence of two influential forces in the hip-hop world promises an evening of energetic performances and genre-defining music. \nAbout The Pharcyde: Formed in Los Angeles in 1989\, The Pharcyde is a trailblazing American hip-hop group renowned for their innovative and playful approach to rap. With their debut album\, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde (1992)\, the group established a legacy with its creative beats and clever wordplay. The Pharcyde’s distinctive lyrical style\, blending humor\, introspection\, and social commentary\, has solidified their status as icons in alternative hip-hop. \nAbout Mastaplann is an all-Filipino Hip Hop group formed in 1992 in the Philippines. The original members included Butch Velez\, aka Tracer One\, and Johnny Luna\, aka Type Slickk\, along with three Disco Mix Competition DJs under Universal Records. Johnny Krush joined as the third emcee starting with their second album\, bringing his influence from San Francisco\, California. Over the past 14 years\, the group has scaled down to two active members: Tracer One and Johnny Krush. Mastaplann is recognized for their involvement in the underground rap scene. With a style characterized by gritty lyrics and raw beats\, they carved out a niche within the genre\, contributing to the evolving sound of hip-hop during that era. Their work reflects a dedication to authentic\, street-oriented storytelling and a passion for maintaining the essence of classic rap. Among their many achievements\, Mastaplann received platinum and gold record awards and are identified as legends of Filipino Hip-Hop.

SUMMARY:Empty the Shelters – Reduced Adoption Event
DESCRIPTION:“Empty the Shelters” at Kauai Humane Society\nA Reduced Adoption Fee Event by BISSELL Pet Foundation💚 \nFrom October 1st – 15th\, 2024\, the Kaua’i Humane Society will be participating in BISSELL Pet Foundation “Empty The Shelters” reduced fee adoption event for a second time this year. This partnership with BISSELL makes it possible to adopt a dog or cat from our shelter for only $25. \nBut wait – there’s more! We will also be waiving adoption fees for all of our senior animals\, making adopting a senior pet in October completely free and easy! \nIt’s easier than to find your forever friend while helping us Empty the Shelters with: \n💲 $25 adoptions for ALL Adoptable Dogs and Adoptable Cats \n🌟 FULLY SPONSORED Adoptions for Senior Animals (7+) \n🏡 FULLY SPONSORED Adoptions for Longest Stay Animals (90+ days in shelter) \n😸😸 2-for-1 Adoption Fees for all puppies and kittens at $25 (under 6 months) \nWe think Bissell is just amazing for including over 410 organizations from 43 states in this event dedicated to ending pet homelessness. Check out this great quote from BISSELL founder Cathy Bissell: \n“Our nation’s animal shelters are facing a capacity crisis and need your help now. Adoptions have slowed while a surge in owner surrenders due to families facing economic and housing challenges has left tens of thousands of highly adoptable pets desperate to find homes\,” said Cathy Bissell\, Founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation. \n“Our Spring National ‘Empty the Shelters’ will support the adoption of thousands of pets across the country\, helping shelters in this critical time. Opening your home to a shelter pet saves a life and creates lifesaving space to help another pet in need.” \nThanks to Bissell Pet Foundation\, Sponsors\, and Donors for making this possible! Let’s make adoptions more accessible and find loving homes for all!💙💚 \n📌 Event Details: \nDate: October 1st – 15th\, 2024\nTime: 12 pm – 4:30 pm (Adoption Hours\, Closed Thursdays)\nLocation: Kauai Humane Society
