DESCRIPTION:Malina Lee of Sweet Grace Bakery is returning to her Kauai home to teach this hands-on class\, diving into the romantic world of French Macarons. \nWhat will be taught\n– Perfecting and coloring Meringue\n– Piping techniques and tricks\n– Tempered Ganache\n– Luxurious Vanilla Bean Buttercream \nEveryone will have the opportunity to pipe meringue and assemble macarons to take home. \nAge Requirement: 13 years or older (Youth ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a registered adult) \nLocation: The Kukuiula Culinary Market and the Cooking Kauai\, Provisions Kitchen in Lawai. \nAll the needed ingredients\, recipes\, and tools will be provided so guests may practice the techniques during class. There will be an opportunity for guests to purchase recommended tools before class. They will be ready to take and practice at home. \nMalina Lee was born and raised on Kauai’s North Shore. Her family still owns and operates a robust tropical flower farm there! In 2017\, she moved to Texas as an elementary school teacher. After four years\, she left teaching to pursue her passion\, baking\, as her full-time career. Malina officially opened Sweet Grace in 2020 specializing in weddings\, parties\, and corporate events. She missed teaching so much that she began offering baking classes at her local cake store. Malina currently divides her time between Kaua’i and Texas. When on the island\, Malina creates personalized wedding cakes for friends and family\, delivering them across the island. Here is everything you need to know. \nThe annual Kauai Poke Fest will be held at Koloa Landing Resort on Saturday\, June 8\, 2024 with celebrity chef and the godfather of poke\, Sam Choy. The festival begins at 2:00 pm and ends at 7:00 pm. VIP ticket holders will have early access to the poke tasting hall. The festival includes live entertainment\, 20 professional & amateur chefs creating unique and delicious poke dishes for everyone to try\, and over 600 pounds of fresh ahi poke. Proceeds from this year’s festival will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund providing resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people and places affected by the devastating Maui wildfires. \nTIMELINE \n2:00PM – Kauai-Made Farmer’s Marketplace opens \n3:00PM – opening ceremony\, live music\, and early access to the poke tasting hall (VIP only) \n4:00PM – poke tasting hall open to all general admission ticket holders \n6:00PM – voting ends\, vote counting begins\, & poke demonstration by Sam Choy \n6:45 PM – winners are announced \n7:00PM – closing ceremony \nPurchase tickets for the 2024 Poke Fest HERE. \nTICKET INFORMATION\nAll tickets include attendance to the Poke Fest\, all the poke you can eat\, a poke demonstration by Sam Choy\, live entertainment\, and two drink tickets. \nEarly Bird tickets are almost sold out.
